Measuring 880 meters in length and 500
meters in width, Tian'anmen Square is
located in the center of Beijing; military

Palace, it was the ruling center and
living residence of 24 emperors in Ming
(1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

The Summer Palace was first built in
1750 as a summer resort for the emperors
in the Qing Dynasty. It was built in
order to celebrated Emperor Qianlong's

of times in late Qing Dynasty. The most
attractive sight in Summer Palace is
the Kunming lake. You can take a boat
to cruise it in the summer and enjoy
skiing on the frozen lake in the winter.
Duck Dinner: Beijing Roasted Duck is renowned as the most delicious food of Beijing. The duck is hung in the oven and roasted by flame burning from fruit-wood. The finished duck is characteristic with crispy skin, tender meat and the fragrance from the fruit-wood.
Opera: China's national opera and
it is also China¡¯s traditional
art. It combines music, vocal performance,
mime, dance, and acrobatics. It arose
in the late 18th century and became
fully developed and recognized by the
mid-19th century. Traditional opera
is very popular among Chinese people,
especially seniors. Nowadays, appreciting
an authentic Beijing Opera Show in famous
Liyuan Theater is a must-do when you
are traveling in Beijing.

Great Wall: Ancient military defence
work. Construction of the Great Wall
began during the Spring and Autumn Period
to the Warring States Period (770BC-221BC),
Badaling is the most famous and most-visited
section of the Great Wall in China.
Most travelers visit this section when
they travel Beijing. This is largely
because it is well maintained and provides
smooth walking, while Mutianyu, Jinshanling,
and the vertiginous Simatai require
a full day's outing. A grand view can
be enjoyed on top of the fortresses.
Look into the distance; there is a sea
of lofty mountains and ridges where
the Great Wall arises from the clouds
and rapidly runs out of sight into the
Tombs: The Ming Tombs lie in a broad
valley to the south of Tianshou Mountain
in Changping County, about 50 kilometers
northwest of Beijing proper. They are
known as the 13 Ming tombs, as 13 out
of the 16 Ming emperors were buried
there. Construction of the tombs started
in 1409 and ended with the fall of the
Ming Dynasty in 1644. In over 200 years,
tombs were built over an area of 40
square kilometers, which is surrounded
by walls totaling 40 kilometers. The

Chengde Imperial Mountain Resort:
China's largest imperial garden, covering an area of 5.6 million sq. meters, and with a wall of 10 km. surrounding the garden. Emperors of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911 A.D.) lived and conducted state affairs here in the summer. Construction started in 1703 and was completed in 1790. The Imperial residence is on a hill overlooking a lake. Taking a stroll through the densely wooded grounds you will be rewarded with beautiful views of palaces, pavilions, terraces, and scattered islands.

Outer Temples of the Puning: Outside the surrounding wall of the Mountain Resort of Chengde in Hebei Province, lies an orderly array of eight brilliant and golden temples. Lamasery, is the largest Tibetan Buddhist
Lama Temple in Beijing. It was built
in 1694 as a mansion by Kangxi - the
second emperor of Qing Dynasty (1636-1911),
for his son Yongzheng who is the third
emperor. Lama Temple is consisted of
by the archway, the Heavenly Guardian
Hall, the Hall of Mahavira, the Hall
of Eternal Blessing, the Hall of Dharma
Wheel and Wanfu Hall with compound halls
in the east and west. The Lhama Temple
is a tranquil spot, except during the
Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) when
it seems all of China's Buddhists throng
its altars to burn bushels of incense
and pray for good fortune.
