Square: Tiananmen was the front gate of Forbidden City - the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Measuring 880 meters in length and 500 meters in width, Tian'anmen Square is located in the center of Beijing; military parade takes place here on China's National Day.
City: Also known as the Imperial Palace, it was the ruling center and living residence of 24 emperors in Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. The Forbidden City is situated right in the center of Beijing, covers an area of 740,000 square meters, and has 9999.5 rooms.
Palace: The largest and most famous imperial garden in China which is located in the northwestern outskirts of Beijing. The Summer Palace was first built in 1750 as a summer resort for the emperors in the Qing Dynasty. It was built in order to celebrated Emperor Qianlong's mother's 60th birthday, and survived from several major damages a couple of times in late Qing Dynasty. The most attractive sight in Summer Palace is the Kunming lake. You can take a boat to cruise it in the summer and enjoy skiing on the frozen lake in the winter.
Duck Dinner: Beijing Roasted Duck is renowned as the most delicious food of Beijing. The duck is hung in the oven and roasted by flame burning from fruit-wood. The finished duck is characteristic with crispy skin, tender meat and the fragrance from the fruit-wood.
Opera: China's national opera and it is also China¡¯s traditional art. It combines music, vocal performance, mime, dance, and acrobatics. It arose in the late 18th century and became fully developed and recognized by the mid-19th century. Traditional opera is very popular among Chinese people, especially seniors. Nowadays, appreciting an authentic Beijing Opera Show in famous Liyuan Theater is a must-do when you are traveling in Beijing.

to the Great Wall and the Ming
Wall Of China: Ancient military defence work. Construction of the Great Wall began during the Spring and Autumn Period to the Warring States Period (770BC-221BC), Badaling is the most famous and most-visited section of the Great Wall in China. Most travelers visit this section when they travel Beijing. This is largely because it is well maintained and provides smooth walking, while Mutianyu, Jinshanling, and the vertiginous Simatai require a full day's outing. A grand view can be enjoyed on top of the fortresses. Look into the distance; there is a sea of lofty mountains and ridges where the Great Wall arises from the clouds and rapidly runs out of sight into the horizon.
Tombs: The Ming Tombs lie in a broad valley to the south of Tianshou Mountain in Changping County, about 50 kilometers northwest of Beijing proper. They are known as the 13 Ming tombs, as 13 out of the 16 Ming emperors were buried there. Construction of the tombs started in 1409 and ended with the fall of the Ming Dynasty in 1644. In over 200 years, tombs were built over an area of 40 square kilometers, which is surrounded by walls totaling 40 kilometers. The Ming Tombs are characterized by its large size, complete system, and intact preservation.

of Heaven: An example of China's ancient architectural art and the architectural structure for worshipping the heaven. Covering an area of 2,700,000 square meters, it is located in the southeastern part of central Beijing. The temple of Heaven was built in 1420 AD Ming Dynasty and then expanded and reconstructed. It was for emperors of the two dynasties to worship heaven and pray for rich harvest. Now, it has been a famous tourist attraction.

the Id Kah Mosque is the main
historic sight in Kashgar and
dominates the central square.
Khoja Tomb:It served as the
family tomb of Abakh Khoja, the
powerful ruler of Kashgar in the
17th century who was revered as
a prophet and second only to Mohammed.
First built in 1640, all five
generations of the family are
Visit the Jiaohe Ruins, the Karez
Well and the Sugong Pagoda.
Ruins: Jiaohe meaning the
confluence of two rivers once
stood an ancient city since the
Han dynasty, nearly two thousand
years ago. It ended during Ming
dynasty about 500 years ago. It
started out as a garrison, but
was built up by during the Reign
of Gaochang into a major city
in the Turfan region from 499-640
Well: The Karez is an underground
irrigation system that was installed
2,000 years ago. The karez is
made up of three parts, ditch,
underground channel and dam.
Pagoda: The Sugong Pagoda
is known as the Turpan Pagoda
among local residents. A stone
tablet at its entrance cites the
reason for the pagoda's construction
in Wei and Han characters. The
structure was built in 1181 of
the Hui calendar (1779) by Su
Laiman II, the ruler of the Turpan
Prefecture, to honor his father.
- Dunhuang (Breakfast

Visit the Gaochang Ruins, the
Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave
and the Flaming Hill. Take overnight
soft berth train to Dunhuang.
Ruins: The Uigur city-state
that ruled the area from around
the 9th century to the 13th. In
its heyday, Gaochang was a great
Uigur city built on the business
and trade that came through its
gates. The religious beliefs of
many peoples entered China through
this area, first Buddhism and
Thousand Buddha Caves: There
are 77 numbered grottoes, about
40 of which still have murals
in them. The group of grottoes
in Bizaklik, with a total of 1,200
square meters of murals, has the
most grottoes, most diversified
architectural styles and the richest
mural content in the Turpan area.
Hill: Located at the northern
edge of the Turpan Basin, Flaming
Hill is about 10 kilometers east
of downtown Turpan, stretching
up to 100 kilometers from east
to west and about 10 kilometers
from south to north. With an average
temperature of 30 degrees, it
is known as the hottest place
on earth and the highest temperature
can even reach 47.8 degrees.

Grottoes: This honeycomb of
caves was constructed over a millennium,
from the 4th to the 14th centuries,
and represents the height of Buddhist
art and the world's richest treasure
house of Buddhist sutras, murals
and sculptures. During its heyday,
the cave complex had thousands
of caves, and today, a total of
492 grottoes, 45,000 square-metres
of murals, 2,400 painted statues
and over 250 residential caves
- Xian (Breakfast
Experience a short camel-riding
along the Echoing-Sand Dune to
reach the Crescent Lake. Take
flight to Xian and transfer to
the hotel. Visit the Ancient City
Dune: It offers best picture-book
desert scenery. The dune, surrounded
by rolling ridges and precipitous
cliffs, reaches a relative height
of 250 meters.
Lake: The oasis meets the
desert. Crescent lake was formed
by spring water trickling up
into a depression between huge
sand dunes, forming a crescent-shaped
City Wall: The wall was erected in the 14th century Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), it encircles and protects the ancient part of Xian City. A wide and deep moat ran around the 13-kilometer walls. Visitors could rent a bike and go all around the city wall; it is a fun and peaceful way to experience the city.

Cotta Warriors Museum, the Forest
of Stone Steles Museum and the
Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
Cotta Warriors Museum: Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum, with its 40 meters high tumulus, was built in the third century B.C. for Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty (221-206 B.C.). In 1974 a huge pit with numerous Qin pottery figures was discovered to the east of the mausoleum. The unearthed clay warriors and horses are huge and life-like and provide valuable data for the study of the military weaponry and sculpture of the time. The excavation of this incredibly rich find is a continuing process and visitors can actually see the archaeologists at work revealing more and more of these remarkable statues. Nothing comparable to it has ever been uncovered in China before.
of Stone Steles Museum: The
Stele Forest stores voluminous artworks
which possess not only eximious value
of handwriting and art, but also rich
cultural connotation. The Stele Forest
began to be built in 1087.
Wild Goose Pagoda: This
pagoda is on the grounds of the DaCiEn
Temple. It was built in 652 A.D. Xuan
Zhuang, the famous master monk of the
Tang Dynasty, here translated Buddhist
texts that he had brought back from
India. The pagoda, as it stands today
has seven stones and is 64 meters high.
Spiraling staircases lead to the top
where one is rewarded with a good view
of Xi'an and the surrounding area.

Provincial History Museum: The
museum, with a floor space of over 4,000
square meters, was opened in 1952. There
are more than two thousand ancient artifacts
on display. They are divided into three
sections: Forest of Steles (the oldest
and richest collection of such stone
tablets in China), Gallery of Stone
Sculpture, and Historical Relics.

Museum: Shanghai Museum is
a treasure house of Chinese cultural
essence with a rich collection
of 120,000 valuable antique items.
Shanghai Museum is especially
famous for its treasures of bronzes
(bells, knives, axeheads, chariot
ornaments), ceramics, Chinese
calligraphy and traditional paintings.
Yuan Garden: As the most famous classical garden in Shanghai, Yuyuan is located to the northeast of the old town, not far from The Bund. It was built from 1559 to 1577 during the Ming Dynasty. Each pavilion, hall, stone and stream in the garden is expressing the quintessence of South China landscape design from Ming and Qing Dynasty.
French Concession: It is once designated for the French from 1849 to 1946, consisting of today's Luwan and Xuhui Districts. Interesting architecture built with French and Belgian venture investments and showing mixed Chinese-European styles. Today, the area is characterized by quiet, tree-lined avenues, French-style villas, interesting boutiques, lively bars and quaint cafes that are not typical of China.
Bund: As the architectural symbol of Shanghai, the Bund is on the west bank of Huangpu River and winds one kilometer. The name "the Bund" is derived from an Anglo-Indian term meaning literally ¡°muddy embankment¡±. To the west of the Bund, there are 52 magnificent buildings standing in different styles: Rome, Baroque, Gothic, Renaissance, Classic and the combination of Eastern and Western style, most of them were erected before 1937.
